Math Club Reaches National Gold Level Status
Congratulations to the St. Charles Math Club for attaining Gold Level Status in The National Math Club. Gold Level Status is the highest honor in the National Math Club.
Participants include the following 6th Graders: Gabe Collins, Charlie Ingrisano, Liam Stapleton, Bobby Walsh, and Trevor Waltersdorf. Mrs. Kathy Mullen is the Math Club Leader.
The participants completed a challenging, creative team-oriented project. The students worked collaboratively on the 2018-2019 Gold Level Project by creating a Math Game. The project was done very well and satisfied all the requirements. Participants received certificates to recognize their achievement and St. Charles School was given a banner.
This is an extremely commendable accomplishment for the St. Charles club and teachers, staff, parents and school and parish leaders are proud of these students for their achievements in the area of mathematics. The students certainly enjoyed their Math Club experience this year.
The National Math Club is part of MATHCOUNTS, a nationwide middle school mathematics competition held in various places in the United States. Its founding sponsors include the CNA Foundation, the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Students are challenged with geometry, counting, probability, number theory and algebra problems.
The goal of the National Math Club is to cultivate curiosity and build confidence in all learners.
