St. Charles Student Places 2nd in Wisconsin Knights of Columbus Mathematics Knowledge Contest
Robert “Bobby” Walsh, a sixth grade student at St. Charles Parish School, has placed second in the Knights of Columbus Statewide Mathematics competition.
Bobby was the top scorer for 6th Grade following contests at the local and Diocesan level.
Expressing great confidence in Bobby, St. Charles School Principal Dan Garvey was pleased to congratulate his student for this achievement. Mrs. Kathy Mullen, St. Charles Middle School Math Teacher, provided the necessary guidance and mentoring for Bobby's success.
Bobby is enrolled in the 6th Grade accelerated math class covering both 7th and 8th Grade math. Bobby will take algebra next as a 7th Grader and will potentially take geometry at Arrowhead High School as an 8th Grader.
Bobby has also been involved in the after school MATHCOUNTS Competition Series program under the leadership of Mrs. Mullen, which seeks to develop greater math ability in students.
Bobby is also a member of the St. Charles Math Club and competed in the 2018 Marquette University High School Fall Math Meet.
The Wisconsin Knights of Columbus extends congratulations to Bobby as well as Principal Garvey and Mrs. Mullen for their leadership and commitment to academic excellence.
