Reminders For Holy Week
Silent Entrance On Monday, April 15: Once again we will have Silent Entrance Monday morning. As your children enter school please remind them to be calm and quiet and to make minimal noise as they enter their classrooms.
Shorts: Monday, April 15 marks the first day that students are allowed to wear shorts to school. Please no shorts on Mass day which this week is on Wednesday, April 17 for an All School Mass. Uniforms must be worn on Mass days.
Rosary Group: Meets Tuesday, April 16 at 8:30 am in the Life Teen Cafe. During Holy Week if you are going to do something extra for Lent then make plans to recite the Rosary with other school parents. Spend 30 minutes in prayer and then get on with your day. Dress Down On Tuesday: Hello, we are Kate, Hannah, and Rachael. We are 7th Graders at St. Charles. After writing our Social Studies research paper on Catholic Social Teachings, we realized that people around the world, especially in Africa, are less fortunate than us. We want to do something to support these families. After a little research, we learned that the Heifer International Organization supports families in Africa who are struggling. Heifer will send these families an animal they can use to support themselves.
For Almsgiving this Lent, we would like to fundraise to purchase chicks/ducks/goslings to support less fortunate families. These animals can fertilize farms, produce eggs which the families can sell, and can provide nutrition. We are asking for donations to raise money to purchase animals. We are hoping that the students will bring in their own money, rather than asking their parents. All students who bring in $1 or more will receive a Dress Down Pass for Tuesday, April 16. Please bring your money on Tuesday, April 16. With your help, we can hopefully buy chickens/ducks/goslings for those in need. Our goal is to raise $300, enough to buy chickens/ducks/goslings for 5 families in need. Thank you so much for your support! Have a blessed Easter.
Early Release On Thursday: Students in 5K through 8th Grade will be released at 11:45 am on Thursday, April 18. Students in 3K and 4K will be released at 11:30 am. Have a safe Easter Break and we will see you at school again on Monday, April 29.
VIP Day: Our Very Important Person Day (formerly known as Grandparents Day) is set for Friday, May 3. If you would like the School Office to mail an invitation to your child's VIP guest please email Christina Holmes and send her the home address of your guests. Also if you're able to volunteer on VIP Day or bring in food please click HERE. We need volunteers to serve and clean up during the breakfast. These are easy hours and won't take much time. Please consider giving a couple of hours. Also we need to know which students are leaving early on VIP Day with their relatives. Parents, please take a minute to print the permission slip and fill it out and return it to your child's teacher by Thursday, April 18.
