Reminders and what you need to know for HOLY WEEK.

As we enter Holy Week we invite you to take part in one of the many prayer services and Masses scheduled for this week.  As Fr. Ken said at Masses this weekend, don't make this just another week -- make it holy.

For a list of the final Lenten events and opportunities to enter into prayer, click here.

Monday, March 26:

* We will have a Silent Entrance on Monday morning, March 26 as part of our Lenten journey. Please remind your children to observe the silence. The lights will be dimmed and teachers will hold candles to guide the way to classrooms.

* No Peer Tutoring/Homework Club after school. We will see everyone on Monday, April 9.

Wednesday, March 28:

* All School Mass beginning at 8:30 am with 3rd Grade leading the Mass. Please join us!

* Rosary prayed at 2:45 pm in the chapel just inside the parish entrance. This is a new location and it's quiet and can accommodate the number of parents in attendance. Recite the rosary with other school parents and make this a final part of your Lenten observance. No worries if you don't know the rosary. We will help guide you.

Thursday, March 29 -- HOLY THURSDAY:

* Early Release at 11:45 am for students in 5K through 8th Grade. Students in 3K and 4K will be released at 11:30 am. This also begins the start of Easter Break. We will see our students and families when school resumes on Monday, April 9.

Sunday, April 1 -- EASTER SUNDAY!

* Join us for an Easter Egg Hunt immediately following the 11 am Mass. Find more details here.

Support Our Custodian Denny Stadler In Janitor Of The Year Contest

Denny is the lead janitor at Lake Country School where he works in the mornings and afternoons before coming to St. Charles later in the afternoons. His nomination was submitted by Lake Country School. And Finally ... Track Your Child's Screen Time

From School Counselor Mrs. Delmore:

I'm challenging the families of St. Charles to participate in the Children=E2=80=99s Hospital of Wisconsin Healthy Schools Challenge! This is a program supported by Kohl=E2=80=99s Cares and gives us an opportunity to win one of three $500 grants or one of 20 classroom awards.

The challenge: students track screen time outside of school for one week. This simple activity helps encourage students to become more aware of the time spent on computers and other devices. We would like to find out how many hours a day they are spending on screens, when it=E2=80=99s healthier for their minds and bodies to spend that time being active, interacting with family and friends and focusing on mindfulness.

For one week, students record the amount of time spent each day =E2=80=94 outside of school =E2=80=94 on screens. I will collect the record sheets and then have classroom discussions about what they learned. Were they surprised by the amount of time spent on screens after school and in the evening? Do they feel differently when they are on a screen versus reading a book, playing a game or engaging in physical activity? How does screen use impact their relationships?

Please record or if old enough, have your child record screen use (outside of school) from Monday, April 9 until Sunday, April 16. The logs to record the minutes will be distibuted this week.

Thank you for supporting this project!
