Reminders and what you need to know for the first week back to school after Easter Break. Here's a nice thought: There are only NINE more weeks of school until Summer Break begins!
Monday, April 9:
* The Screen Time Challenge begins now. School Counselor Mrs. Delmore has challenged students to take a break from screen time. St. Charles is participating in the Children=E2=80=99s Hospital of Wisconsin Healthy Schools Challenge. This is a program supported by Kohl=E2=80=99s Cares and gives us an opportunity to win one of three $500 grants or one of 20 classroom awards.
The challenge: students track screen time outside of school for one week. This simple activity helps encourage students to become more aware of the time spent on computers and other devices. Mrs. Delmore would like to find out how many hours a day students are spending on screens when it=E2=80=99s healthier for their minds and bodies to spend that time being active, interacting with family and friends and focusing on mindfulness.
For one week, students record the amount of time spent each day =E2=80=94 outside of school =E2=80=94 on screens. Mrs. Delmore will collect the record sheets and then have classroom discussions about what they learned: Were they surprised by the amount of time spent on screens after school and in the evening? Do they feel differently when they are on a screen versus reading a book, playing a game or engaging in physical activity? How does screen use impact their relationships?
Please record or if old enough have your child record screen use (outside of school) from Monday, April 9 until Sunday, April 16. The logs to record the minutes are here.
Thank you for supporting this project!
* Peer Tutoring/Homework Club resumes after school at 3:25 pm and ends at 4:15 pm. Let's finish strong these last couple months.
* St. Charles Night at Culver's. Ease back into the school routine with a visit to Culver's in Hartland for dinner or dessert. Culver's will donate 10 percent of the night's sales to St. Charles Parish and School. Offer is good for dine in or carry out. Make Monday less stressful and grab Culver's.
Tuesday, April 10:
* Tickets for the Spring Musical, "Godspell Jr." go one sale in the Parish Office. Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Performances are Saturday, April 21 at 6:30 pm and Sunday, April 22 at 2 pm. Don't wait -- buy your tickets soon. Click here for more information.

Tax Time And Questions About Tuition Deduction
With April 15 right around the corner, many parents may have plans to finish their taxes this coming week. We're reprinting information that appeared earlier this year with regards to the Tuition Tax Rebate. To access a report on tuition paid you must go into your personal TADS account -- we don't have the report in the School Office. Follow these easy steps to find out your tuition deduction.
